Project Formatting and Submission Guidelines
1.
All papers should be in accordance with the following format:
- Include
name, RSC box #, course, word count, and written project title or # at top
of title page.
- 1 inch
top, bottom, left, and right margins.
- Papers
must be typed using 12 point Times New Roman font.
- Number all
pages (except title page) and double space.
- Use
gender-neutral language unless making a specific reference to a male or
female person(s). Use of the singular "they" instead of he/she or the singular "their" instead of
his/her is acceptable.
- As is
accepted practice with academic works in theology or biblical studies,
capitalize the words "Bible" and "Scripture" but not
"biblical" or "scriptural." Do not capitalize
the words "him," "his" or other personal pronouns in
reference to Jesus Christ or God (e.g. do not write "God gave His
only begotten Son").
- Biblical
citations may be in text or as footnotes. The first citation should
indicate the version of the Bible used (e.g. New Revised Standard Version,
New International Version, New American Standard Bible, etc.), but
subsequent citations need not indicate version unless a different version
from the first citation is used.
- All
non-biblical citations and bibliographic entries should be in accordance
with the Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed. (Turabian)
for the Humanities. Click here for examples of
guidelines: Chicago Style
Citations.
2. Submit
a hard copy of paper to professor at class time of
due date.
3.
The paper must also be submitted electronically to My Northwestern course
page. The paper will automatically be checked by www.turnitin.com.,
an online service which checks papers for plagiarism. Papers must be
submitted on the date indicated by the instructor. Failure to submit the
paper to Synapse will result in a failing grade being assigned for that
paper. The professor will be glad to help any student who has questions
on how to submit papers electronically.
