Writing

Here's a bunch of writing projects that I've attempted.  Take a look at some poetry, if you're the sensitive type.   I've also dumped a short story out (for the more action-oriented lurkers), and I may get around to posting some more stories in a bit.   I've got a number of essays (written for class, the campus paper, whatever) and letters that might interest you.  I may also post some stuff from the Creative Writing classes I took in high school.  No!   Really!  It's not all that bad.  You can also take a look at the English and Education pages.

I've been interested in writing ever since junior high when I wrote out a 15 page adventure story about "Buck Rogers, the Bionic Boy."   (I was actually serious at the time, but now it almost makes for a nice bit of satire.)  I wrote it out longhand, since this was back in the days before computers.   Once I got into high school I pirated a copy of AppleWorks and soon was merrily hunt-and-pecking away.

In college the first class I had to take was something called "College Writing."    I suppose it wasn't so bad, but the prof was irritating and I just couldn't get terribly interested, though I suppose I managed to learn something.  I then took a class called Art of the Essay which was much more invigorating, and I also took a semester of creative writing.  I was on the campus newspaper, the Beacon, for a couple of years.  Since then, I've been limited to poems, letters, and the 'Novel of Damocles.' I have a number of ideas for stories that I would like to get to some day, but for a taste you can take a look at my notes for a trilogy of books.
