Tommy's web page: 7/21/05
Well, it's been awhile, hasn't it? I've just been so busy learning how to walk and run and climb on furniture and stuff that I just totally spaced updating my website. (Actually, it's daddy's fault but I don't want him to feel bad, so I'm willing to take the blame.) Seeing daddy's website from our trip (to South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado) has inspired me to update my website too. Let me fill you in on what you've missed:
I took my first step last October (I picked a very dramatic place to do it... right at the top of the living room stairs...) I have a whole mouthful of teeth now (16, I think). I still like to spin around in circles and make myself dizzy (I've been doing that since last November). I like to leap off the ottoman onto the couch, and I like to climb up on the bench seat in the breakfast nook and look out the window. I like knocking over houseplants and playing in the dirt, but mommy and daddy don't like it when I do that, so I only do it when I'm being ignored and I crave attention. I also like to play ball and play with daddy's Matchbox cars (which daddy seems a little too protective of, if you ask me). And I like to read my books and peel them (mommy and daddy don't appreciate the fine art of book-peeling, though).
Let's see... I can say some words now: dog, duck, down (I pronounce all three of these words 'duh'... mommy and daddy can usually tell what I mean by where my arm is pointing), yeah, no, up, more, please (I use sign language for this word), mama, daddy (dada), I love you ('I wu'), thank you, hi, bye-bye, yellow ('lellow'), red, truck, row row row your boat, what's that (wuzza)?, why?, oofta, uh oh, shoe, juice, ball, light, apple, pretzel, peas, cat, and bird, and I can say my ABC's up to J (sometimes) and I can count to 3 (although sometimes I get distracted by the time I get to 2). I think I can probably say some other words too, but those are my favorites.
I'm using a program called Front Page, which makes little pictures called thumbnails, and if you want to see big versions of the pictures below, all you have to do it click on the thumbnail. I decided to spare you from scrolling through a whole year of photos, so I am just going to include some recent pictures, especially pictures from our recent trips. Front Page also lets me use a background photo, which is fun except that it makes the text harder to read. If you're having problems, just highlight the text and you'll be able to read it better.
Here's me climbing on the furniture so I can look out the window. Mommy and daddy don't let me go out much these days because I get really bad heat rash. :(
Here are some random pictures from when Grandma and Grandpa came down to visit in May.
We went to Minneapolis for my Unlce Bud's birthday party. Here's mommy and me heading over to Minnehaha Falls to check it out, and here's a picture daddy took of the falls and a picture of Grandma and Grandpa playing with my xylophone.
Here's a picture of me and my ex-babysitter Crystal. She went and graduated and got married and moved to Texas, so she can't babysit anymore.
Here are some pictures from a trip mommy and me took to Minneapolis in early June. Daddy was in South Carolina so he wasn't there. Uncle Dave was there from Colorado, and we had fun anyway. This is what I look like with short hair.
Here's mommy and me standing by a big gopher at Buffalo Gap National Grassland in South Dakota. Good thing gophers are vegetarians!
Here's me trying to fill Yellowstone Lake with rocks. It didn't work. And here's a picture of me and mommy at the lake. Mommy's smiling, even though the bathroom near us stank really bad.
We visited my friends Sage and Piper in Moose, Wyoming, for a couple days. That's me playing on their slide, and that's daddy wearing two hats (strange, I know...)
Here are some pictures of me and my friend Audie. He lives in Cheyenne. We're pretty stylin' in our outfits, don't you think?
Here are some pictures from when we stayed at the YMCA where mommy used to work. There's one of Uncle Dave teaching me how to play cards. There was a 4th of July parade when we were there, and I caught lots of candy that they were throwing... Hey, come to think of it, I only got to eat one piece of that candy! I wonder if daddy ate the rest. I did hear him say he gained 6 pounds on the trip!
Here's a picture of me with my new friends, the Carrs. We stayed with them on the 4th of July and watched fireworks and we all chased each other around their backyard and they shared their toys with me and stuff. Mommy and Daddy used to live next door to them. They say that the Carrs were the best neighbors ever. It must be because they have a trampoline and lots of fun toys.
That's about it for now. Thanks for your patience. I'll try not wait so long to update you next time! Bye-bye for now!
